NCEE Registration Eligibility Requirements
To register for the national common entrance examination you must meet the following requirements
- Only final year pupils aged 10 or older by September 2023 are eligible.
- Choose a school from one of the six geopolitical zones.
- Parents/guardians must complete registration on the NCCE portal.
- Pay a fee of ₦4,600.
2024 NCEE Registration and Guidelines
Existing users (Head Teachers, Parents/Guardians, etc.) must log in with their credentials, while new users should visit neco.gov.ng/ncee to create an online account using a phone number and email.
After activating the account via email, the 2,500 Naira fee can be paid to NECO TSA through various methods like USSD, internet banking, wallet, card, or bank branch.
Following the payment, candidates’ details and a passport-size photo should be uploaded, and a photo card generated.

The registration process for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) is exclusively online. Within Nigeria, Heads of Primary Schools and Private Candidates must adhere to specific guidelines to purchase their registration quotas or slots at the cost of N4,500.00, with an additional N50.00 Stamp Duty per candidate.
Payments are strictly online through the Remita Platform, eliminating the need for bank transactions. Overseas candidates, including those in Europe and other countries, should follow designated registration guidelines and make a $400.00 payment via the Remita Platform through their respective High Commissions, Embassies, or Consulates.
How to Register an Account on NECO NCEE Registration Portal.
To pay and register candidates for the NCEE examination, create an account on the NCEE Registration portal by visiting https://ncee.neco.gov.ng.
- To register, click “Register Here” and provide the necessary information before clicking “Register.”
After registration, a verification email will be sent to the provided email. Click on the “VERIFY EMAIL” link in the email sent by NECO to complete the verification process.
How to Make Payment for the Candidate NCEE Registration.
- After activating your account and logging in, purchase Quota for candidates by following these steps:
- Click on “Payment” after login.
- Enter the desired amount and accept payment terms.
- Proceed to checkout on Remitta and choose the payment method, then click “Pay.” Once successful, the quota is generated.
- To register a candidate:
- Login to the NCEE Registration Portal.
- On the Dashboard, click “ADD CANDIDATE.”
- Fill in required fields, upload the candidate’s passport, and provide Parent/Guardian information, confirming the child is in Primary 6.
- Choose a school from the six geopolitical zones.
- A status message confirms successful registration
How to Register Candidates For NCEE
To qualify for the examination, candidates must be registered, and registration quota must be generated after payment. If the quota hasn’t been generated, payment is incomplete (refer to Section 3 for payment instructions). To register a candidate, follow these steps on the NCEE Registration Portal:
